The two hand painted Satsuma vases show a beautiful landscape scene on an off-white crackle ground with mountains and pagodas in the background, a water mill and a stream flowing to the foreground where Japanese cherry blossoms, pink peonies, blue irises and other flowers bloom, with foliate scroll borders to the shoulder and foot. Each approx. 11 7/8 by 5 1/4 in., 30.2 by 13.5 cm.
