A rose quartz carving of the bodhisattva of mercy, Guanyin, who stands wearing long draping robes and holding a lotus flower. Next to the deity is a phoenix, also with a lotus flower in its mouth. On a base of green aventurine carved with more birds and flowers. Mounted as a lamp on gilt bronze and brass hardware. The quartz approx. 7 1/4 by 3 in., 18.4 by 7.6 cm.
