A Dehua Blanc de Chine Porcelain Guanyin

19th century, Qing dynasty. The bodhisattva of mercy, Guanyin, in a feminine portrayal stands tall and elegant, dressed in long draping robes with long sleeves and sashes with one bare foot peeking out. The bodhisattva?s long sleeves hide her hands as she holds a small child with a lingzhi sprig in his hand. The bodhisattva?s hair is in an asymmetrical loose topknot held with a scrolling hairpin above her serene face. The porcelain body glazed in a shiny translucent white glaze which pools to a slightly cool tone in the recesses. With certificate of authenticity from Ta Kung & Company dated to 1983.
