1736-1800, Qianlong period, Qing dynasty. Attributed to the Imperial Glassworks, Beijing, the rare snuff bottle with a flat lip and recessed oval foot with one flattened side while the other cast in relief in caramel brown glass suffused with shimmering crystalline copper iridescence. The flattened side covered in iridescent green overlay carved to depict one of Hehe Erxian twins carrying a banner with an inscription that reads ?yi tuan he qi? which can be translated as ?harmony at all times.? The reverse side cast in relief to depict the bajixiang, or eight Buddhist emblems. With a coral glass stopper.
