Wu Changshuo (1844-1927), Peaches
1919, early Republic period. Ink and color on paper, hanging scroll. Wu Changshuo was a well-known painter, calligrapher, and seal carver. This painting depicts several ripe pink peaches on branches, representing longevity. According to the inscriptions on the right, it was painted in 1919, by Wu Chanshou at the age of 76. Two seals next to the inscription and one to the bottom left. Approx. 12 1/2 by 45 in., 31.8 by 114.3 cm.
