A Sino-Tibetan Gilt Bronze Jambhala
19th century. The bodhisattva of wealth finely cast seated on a lotus pedestal, his right leg outstretched and resting on a conch shell on top of a vessel that has spilled over, his torso adorned with jewels, holding in his right hand a peach and a mongoose in his left. His face with fierce features, bulging eyes, prominent eyebrows and beard, wearing a curved diadem, his hair neatly piled into an usnisha. Copper base with crossed vajras. Approx. 6 by 4 in., 15.5 by 10 cm.
