19th century. A female incarnation of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, she represents all the miracles of the Buddhas of the past, present, and future. The green form of Tara is one of positive energy with an infinite ability to save other beings. Here she is shown seated in lalitasana, one of her left hands is making the abhaya fearlessness mudra and one of her right hands is making the varada gift giving mudra, each of these hands features a floral lozenge in the middle of her palms. Her other right hand holds a wish granting jewel while her other left hand holds a stupa. She wears ornate body jewelry, and a five-pendant floral diadem on her tilted head framing her hair which is up in a very tall chignon; a serene expression on her face she has an urna in the middle of her forehead.
