A Chinese Tulu Archaistic Jade Vessel and Cover

Carved in the form of an archaic pigment container, the rectangular body with key fret borders to the top and base, the sides carved with qilin-head handles, the columnar corners raised on waisted and lobed feet, the cover surmounted by a coiled dragon with cloud forms at each corner. The stone a rich spinach green color with dark vein inclusions. Approx. 7 1/4 by 7 3/4 by 3 7/8 in., 18.5 by 19.7 by 10 cm.
