An Imperial Yellow Peking Glass Snuff Bottle
Late 19th/early 20th century, Qing dynasty. Of imperial yellow color and flattened round form, the snuff bottles shoulders are surmounted by taotie masks holding rings faux handles on opposing sides, resting on a raised oval foot ring. One side is carved to show two cranes, the other side with a crane in flight over the moon to imply a happy home. With a yellow Peking glass stopper and a brass final, collar and spoon. From the Christian Collection, Middleborough, MA. Approx. 2 3/4 by 1 7/8 in., 7.1 by 4.9 cm.
