A Japanese Satsuma Covered Jar
The cylindrical stoneware vessel with overglaze and gold enamels, the exterior with a scene depicting a couple paying the flute and attendants fanning them and bringing a basket of fruit with mountains to the background, with a lotus flower to each of the 3 feet and an abstract border design to the feet and mouth, topped with a gold enameled lid. Approx. 6 1/4 by 4 1/4 in. diam., 16 by 10.9 cm. diam.
