A Rare Persimmon-Glazed Lobed Ding Dish
Song dynasty (960-1279). The shallow dish with gently curving base and flaring sides, finely potted and supported on a short foot ring, with a five-petal lobed rim, covered in a rich persimmon-red glaze, thinning at the rim to a dark brown and cream tone, stopping just before the foot to reveal a fine buff body. Provenance: From the Estate of Patrick H. Booth, Jr. Approx. 1 1/4 by 6 1/4 in., diam., 3.2 by 16 cm.
