Ming Dynasty Ceramic Mingqi, Tomb Furniture
Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Earthenware with glazes. Consisting of three pieces, these tomb furnishings to provide for the afterlife include one green-glazed rectangular cabinet with four vertical doors beneath seven horizontal drawers and a rectangular altar table draped with a blue and turquoise cloth, together with an unglazed bowl containing five green-glazed peaches, symbolic of longevity. All are enclosed in an elegant vintage Chinese wood and glass stand. Largest approx. 8 7/8 by 5 5/8 in., 22.6 by 14.4 cm.
