Zhang Yuanji/JuSheng (1867-1959), Chrysanthemums

Early 20th century. Ink and color on paper, hanging scroll. Zhang Yuanji, painter?s name Jusheng, was a famous writer, publisher and painter. Here he depicts several different types of chrysanthemums in various colors. The inscription to left indicates it was painted in the autumn at Pei Ying Guan, a publishing house in Shanghai. Below the inscription are two seals of the artist. Approx. 11 3/4 by 39 in., 30 by 99 cm.
