French, 1884. Made by Elkington and Co., Birmingham, England. The piece is a Victorian bronze plaque relief, electroplated and damascened. The plaque retains its original oak frame and mounting hardware. Signed and dated at lower left: Morel-Ladeiul/ Fecit 1884; at lower right: Elkington, with Elkington marks to plaque edge. Approx. 17 1/2 by 22 3/4 in., 44.5 by 58 cm.
