A Chinese Light Celadon Jade Beast
Early 20th century, Qing dynasty. A seated lion-like beast with beard and bifurcated mane, bulging eyes, open mouth, and curled tail with protruding vertebra down its spine, carved in low relief with scrolls on the side of the body. Approx. 4 3/4 by 4 in., 12 by 10.2 cm.
