A Green Peking Glass Snuff Bottle with Overlay
Mid 19th/early 20th century, Qing dynasty. A green peking glass snuff bottle of flattened round form with overlay blue, orange interior and foot with orange blush to one side, one side depicts two children at play with a bat descending from heaven, the other side depicting one child playing as a bat descends from heaven, both scenes implying wishes for blessings from above, with "shi kou" mark to one side, flared neck and a red peking glass stopper with a brass finial, brass collar and brass spoon. From the Christian Collection, Middleborough, MA. Approx. 3 1/8 by 1 3/4 in., 8 by 4.6 cm.
