A Jian Kiln Hares Fur Tea Bowl, Song Dynasty
Song Dynasty (960-1279). The deep conical sides rising from a short straight foot to a lipped rim, covered inside and out with a lustrous black glaze finely streaked with russet 'hare's fur' markings thinning to russet at the rim and pooling in a line and thick droplets around the foot. Provenance: From the Collection of Dora Wong. Approx. 2 1/8 by 4 7/8 in.diam., 5.5 by 12.5 cm. diam.
