A Chinese Incised Ding Ware Dish
Song dynasty (960-1279). The gently curved dish incised to the center with a freely drawn lotus flower spray with curling stems and leaves, the exterior carved with two rows of petal lappets, covered overall with a white glaze pooling in the recesses, with copper metal wrapped rim left unglazed for firing. Provenance: From the Estate of Patrick H. Booth, Jr. Approx. 1 3/8 by 6 5/8 in. diam., 3.5 by 17 cm. diam.
