A Japanese Bronze and Silver Fish Koro

Early 20th century, Meiji period. A bronze fish with silver inlaid scales, gills, fins, and eyes, leaping out of crashing waves and spouting water that forms a basin or koro, which is also inlaid with silver fish and waves. Approx. 10 1/2 by 12 in., 27 by 30.5 cm.
