A Small "Four Scrolls" Bronze Mirror, Han Dynasty

Han Dynasty (206 BC- 220 AD). The circular blackened bronze, cast with a central pierced knob encircled by four scrolls between four raised bosses contained within hatched borders below the plain rim. Provenance: From the collection of a prominent American military official stationed in Singapore in the mid-20th century. Literature: At Home Singapore Style: distinctive interiors & decorating sources, American Women's Association of Singapore, 1994. Exhibited: College of William & Mary, Exhibition of Chinese Bronze Art held by the Asian and Middle Eastern Studies Department, 2000. Approx. 4 in. diam., 10.2 cm. diam.
