A Snowflake Peking Glass Snuff Bottle with Overlay
Mid-19th/early 20th century, Qing dynasty. An overlay of green and white on a snowflake Peking glass snuff bottle of flattened oval form resting on a raised oval foot. One side with a bat descending from heaven to a traveler carrying a peach, possibly Shoulao the god of longevity, and a four character Qianlong reign mark. The other side decorated with a scholar, butterfly and a qilin. With a green Peking glass stopper set in brass collar, brass finial and spoon. From the Christian Collection, Middleborough, MA. Approx. 3 3/8 by 1 1/2 in., 8.6 by 4 cm.
