18th century, Qing dynasty. The compressed globular body rising from a tall foot ring with articulation to an articulated rim, flanked by a pair of horned dragons spouting water to form handles. Finely carved in shallow relief around the exterior with taotie masks against an incised leiwen ground. The domed lid carved in a similar pattern surmounted by a cupped eight petal-shaped lappet finial. The stone a light grayish-white jade color with very light russet and gray inclusions.
