A Chinese Mughal White Jade Quatrefoil Spice Box
This covered box with straight walls and a flat bottom on a foot ring resembles a flower with four pointed petals around a central eight-lobed round knob. The petals on the lid and sides covered in relief leaf vine meander. Four interior compartments, on a wooden stand. The semi-translucent white jade with dark inclusions to the point of one petal, on both the bottom and lid. Approx. 2 1/8 by 3 1/2 in., 5.5 by 9 cm.
