A Chinese Carved Bamboo and Wood Bitong Brush Pot
19th century, Qing dynasty. The bamboo bitong carved to depict Shoulao, the Daoist god of longevity, holding a giant peach over his shoulder and accompanied by an attendant in a grove of pine trees. With dark wood mounts and tripod feet. Approx. 5 3/4 by 4 1/2 cm.
