A Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Covered Dish

19th century, Qing dynasty. The dish of shallow bowl form on a foot ring with a low domed lid and flaring ring finial, the interior divided into six compartments. Painted with underglaze blue on the exterior to depict a "heaped and piled" lotus meander, and on the interior to depict three peaches symbolizing longevity, surrounded by five bats or wufu, representing the five blessings. Unmarked base. Approx. 4 by 7 3/4 in., 10.2 by 19.8 cm.
