A Fine Song Dynasty Longquan Celadon Amphora

Song dynasty (960-1279). The amphora a with a foliate shaped mouth rim above a cylindrical neck with applied ring handles, the ribbed pear-shaped body raised on flared foot, the buff-colored porcelaineous paste covered in a soft grey-green-blue celadon glaze with a satin finish. Provenance: Ex-collection of Robert H. Ellsworth, previously sold at Skinner's Sale 2528B on December 3, 2010, lot #1127. Approx. 5 � by 2 � in., 14 by 7 cm.
