Zhang Dazhuang (1903-1980), Fish
20th century. Ink and color on paper, album leaf mounted in silk. Zhang Dazhuang was a famous 20th century painter who exceled at ?bird and flower? painting. Here he depicts a vibrantly painted fish using yellows and reds, eating an aquatic plant. To the left is an inscription by the artist stating he painted it for Mr. Zhao Qi, along with the painter's seals. Approx. 11 3/4 by 15 1/2 in., 30 by 39.5 cm.
