Ma Gongyu (1893-1969) and Feng Chaoran (1882-1954), Folding Fan

May of 1932. Ink and color on paper, folding fan leaf mounted on bamboo ribs. On one side is a poem written by Ma Gongyu (1893-1969), a painter and a calligrapher of the 20th century, describing a landscape of rivers and mountains, signature and seal to left. On the other side is an in ink and color painting by Feng Chaoran (1882-1954), a prominent figure painter, depicting a scholarly hermit sitting among grass and trees with an attendant standing nearby. Signature and seal to upper left. Approx. 12 by 16 in., 30.5 by 40.6 cm.
