A Chinese Silver Lotus Flower Brushwasher
19th century. A silver bouquet of a lotus flower, bud, and leaves. The central flower fabricated from several thin layered petals, the center of which forms a lidded box. The hinged lid consists of stamen and a frog finial, which opens to reveal a glass-lined well. A small spider sits on the end of the bundle of tied stems. Finely chased details. Approx. 6 1/2 by 4 1/2 in., 16.5 by 11.5 cm.
