A Chinese Brass Official Seal, Qianlong Period

1751, Qianlong period, Qing dynasty. Official square stamp for the Board of Rites in the 15th year of Qianlong period made in either April or March of 1751. With Manchurian script on the top of the stamp, Chinese script on the sides and stamp indicate it is seal number 3248 of the Qianlong reign used to deal with affairs about rites, books, and foreigners. With auction receipt from 1998 and letter from Temple University, Philadelphia PA. Approx. 3 1/2 by 2 3/16 in., 9 cm by 5 1/2 cm.
