A Chinese Incised Ding Ware Dish
Song dynasty (960-1279). The gently curved dish with flaring sides, incised to the center with a freely drawn lotus flower spray with curling stems and leaves, smooth exterior with articulation, covered overall with a creamy white glaze pooling in the recesses, with dark metal wrapped rim left unglazed for firing. Provenance: From the Estate of Patrick H. Booth, Jr. Approx. 1 1/2 by 7 1/2 in. diam., 3.8 by 19 cm. diam.
