A Pair of Chinese Porcelain Daoist Immortals
Early 20th century, Republic Period. Two large porcelain figures of Daoist immortals including Cai Shen, the God of Wealth, holding a ruyi scepter, and Shou Lao, the God of Longevity, with a staff and peaches. Both figures wearing colorfully enameled robes. The bases with stamped four-character ?Fujian Huiguan? or ?[made in] the Fujian [province] guild hall? mark. Approx. 24 by 11 in., 61 by 28 cm.
